Despite gains in economic and social conditions, many children living in developing countries - particularly those in rural communities - lack adequate access to essential health services at home and school. As a result, many widespread health issues faced by these vulnerable populations could be mitigated by implementing relatively simple interventions. School health services have been identified as a potentially vital solution to community health concerns common to underserved rural communities, and school-based health intervention programs have been shown to be an effective strategy to reach children, particularly in settings where there is inadequate health infrastructure.

PEDSI’s School Health Initiative, will provide health services to children in rural communities by facilitating local schools to serve as de facto health service community centers that provide basic services and information to support community health. 100% of your gift will directly support our pilot program  implemented in partnership with the Rotary Club of Chittagong to roll out the School Health Program in six schools in rural Bangladesh.
